We held a meeting at the Lenchford Inn this morning. Nine of us worked our way through the plans for the Open Day at Winnall Mill, on 29th and 30th of July 2017. Francesca read out a list of all the societies she will be contacting and the parish magazines that will be listing the event. The direction arrows for the self-guided walk are ready, there is a bit more work to be done on the self-guided walk returnable handout.
Dates have been sorted for a general site clear up starting with Jane and Terry to visit the site in advance to strim were needed. We plan to start setting up on the afternoon 28th July. The meeting ended at 12:00 then we had lunch before setting off to visit Charlcotte Furnace near Neenton, Shropshire. An amazing survival of a 18th century charcoal fired blast furnace. measurements were taken as well as lots of photos. When we go back to Shelsley we will have a better idea of what we are looking for.
