It’s the final day of the NWAG Archaeology Advent Calendar, and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
…so here’s a blast from the past! This plastic doll (or ‘action figure’) was found during fieldwork at Tomkin’s Farm, Martley. Dolls of this kind were produced en-masse by American and British toy manufacturers after the launch of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe in 1964, and were some of the most popular children’s toys of their day. Plenty of our members remember these from Christmases past!
We’re not quite sure if this one is an Action Man, or something else – if you know the answer, please get in touch with us!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us here at NWAG!
